Background

The Epic of Cougran - Adventures in Raoolia is an epic fantasy story that takes place on the planet Cougran, in a far off galaxy. It is the story of how a villain is born through the choices that they make. Each choice that the character has can either be good or evil, and each consequence can either help others, or help himself.

The main character's name is Denzcan. He is a male Tigren. Tigrens are the military race on the planet Cougran, and are trained from birth to harness their natural savagery and channel it into martial arts. Without this discipline, they become out of control, overly aggressive balls of rage that will kill anything in their path. Denzcan is such a Tigren.

When Denzcan was born, he and six other Tigren babies were stolen by a Crime Syndicate called the Leonians. The Leonians trained them in the art of pick-pocketing, robbery, lying, and taught them that their only purpose in life was to seek power for themselves, and to steam-roll over anyone who got in their path.

When the Tigrens turned five years old, they underwent their metamorphosis, turning them from 3.5 foot harmless individuals to 10-foot, snarling, mad beasts, wild with rage and completely out of control. They killed the most of the crime lords and ran into the forest, disappearing for the next 60 years.

Synopsis

This seed of destruction grows inside a wild Tigren, granting him limitless power and opening a door to an evil long imprisoned. This first novel, called Adventures in Raoolia, from The Epic of Cougran series, tells the story of Denzcan. Denzcan is an individual who lives in the forest with his six brothers. They have lived in the wilderness for most of their life, away from the trappings of society, when a camper comes across them by accident! This event sets off a chain reaction of chase scenes, sword battles, and an epic conflict that swells to global proportions!

Adventures in Raoolia begins in the middle of a chase scene. Lio, a resident of Shalou City, is running for his life, trying to escape from seven giant Tigrens who have just destroyed his camp and slaughtered his shaklow, which is used like we use horses. In command of these Tigrens is the main character, Denzcan, who has positioned himself through verbal and physical violence, as leader of this pack. It is Denzcan who makes the choices that lead his six brothers down a path of enslavement. His decisions bring him to the foot of absolute power, and he wields that power against the world that he blames for his circumstances.

Adventures in Raoolia is the first of 12 novels chronicling the destruction of an entire society and the redemption of a lost son. It also records the birth of evil, society's failure against that evil, the consequences of not acting on that evil, and ultimately, the power of choice.
