Process
1st Consultation
In order to ensure that we make best use of your time, we ask that we meet with us to photograph
the subject of the portrait. This ensures that the client does not spend several hours of
their time being drawn or painted from life, as our creative process may not mesh with the client's schedule.
The photographs will be taken at our home office in Flint, Michigan, either indoors or outdoors,
depending on the client's needs.
If the client wishes the photographs be taken in their place of residence, the client will be responsible
for paying for all expenses related to the trip.
Product Selection
After a suitable photograph is selected of the subject, the next step is to select the product type. Although
Eric and Pamela, our artists, have comparable skills, their product offerings do not overlap, but are
exclusive.
Pamela is an oil pastel artist. She specializes in pet portraits and personality portraits. Personality
portraits incorporate life achievements and interests into the portrait. Pet portraits can either be just
the head, the front part of the body, or the full body. She focuses on using actual color to depict the
artistic reality of the subject.
Eric is an acrylic painter. He specializes in painting people portraits using complementary colors. The
complementary colors that are available to the client are:
- Violet clothes, hair, eyes and yellow skin
- Blue clothes, hair, eyes and orange skin
- Green clothes, hair, eyes and red skin
Each background is made up of a mixture of the two colors, making the background darker than the subject,
which thrusts the portrait forward in the picture.
Deposit and Estimated Completion Date
After the product and artist are selected, the client will be required to fill out forms with
contact information and payment details. We accept cash, checks, and debit/credit cards from
VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. In order to ensure that adequate supplies are
avaiable to complete the project and that the client's interest remains after consultation,
we ask that a deposit of 1/2 the total price (before framing) is left with our office. This deposit is
non-refundable. After the deposit is placed, an estimated completion date will be given, which is not
standardized, and is different with every project. Completion dates range from one week to several months.
2nd Consultation
After the work is completed, the client will be contacted. A photograph of the completed work will be sent to the
client for approval. If they are satisfied with the completed work, then the client will be given a choice of
framing options for the work, which will be added to the final cost. After framing, the completed piece of art
will then be packed and shipped at the customer's expense.
