Mountain Lion

A very proud accomplishment for the time. The mountain lion is leaping into the picture, onto a mountain and taking a swipe at the camera. I made this image at the dinner table, the dimensions are huge, 24 x 36 I think. I was about 17.

The entire painting is invented, which explains the inauthenticity of the subject. I think that complete invention is a window into the artist's perceptions.

I chose to do a Mountain lion because I like Big Cats. Tigers, lions, leopards, jaguars, cougars, and cheetahs. I was obsessed with them at this time, but images of women shortly took over, and was culminated in the painting Amy: Traditional Portrait No. 3.
