The next morning they departed from the western ruins of BellBour, and as they walked, Zampdom was gazing skyward every few minutes, up into the canopy. He was looking for a particular animal to take them to the edge of the continent, where the castle is located. Zampdom smiled when he found what he was looking for.
"Listen..."
Rrraaaap! Rrraaap!
"...there's our ride to the castle. We have no harnesses or saddles, so we'll have to improvise," said Zampdom.
"Improvise? I'm not riding one of those pekalls without a proper harness. I could be killed, maimed, or worse." worried Yelilah.
"Do you have something better?"
"No...but...well, I don't like it! I just don't like it!" she hissed.
"Here, take my extra knife and cut some vines twice your height. I learned how to make harnesses and saddles from my sire," he instructed.
Yelilah reluctantly followed his instructions, and despite her objections, her saddle and harness turned out to be better than Zampdom's! When the saddles and harnesses were both complete, they cast their gaze skyward to zero-in on the screeching that they had heard earlier, in order to secure their transportation to the Shven-Shong.

Unbeknownst to the two Carcalians, a certain Tigren looking to regain his honor had heard the two Carcalians leave shortly after Denzcan's speech.
‘Now is the time to make my move!' thought Puven.
He leapt clear over the bushes that had concealed him and ran straight for Yelilah! "Run!" shouted Yelilah, as they scrambled in different directions to avoid the charging beast. Puven grabbed a hold of Yelilah's hair and yanked her backward so hard she fell, landing square on her rump.
"Yelilah!" shouted Zampdom, and he ran toward the Tigren from behind, leapt, and wrapped his arm around the Tigren's giant neck, choking the beast's windpipe.
"Ugh, ahuh!" gurgled the Tigren, as he released Yelilah's hair.
When the Tigren had lost consciousness, the two clamored up the nearest grantahn tree, where they had heard pekalls moments earlier, hauling their harnesses and saddles to the center of the canopy.

Pekalls are relatively docile and easy to catch, just as long as you are very quiet and don't spook them. Zampdom and Yelilah spotted two of them, sunning themselves in the branches. They leapt onto the pekalls' back and fitted their homemade harnesses over the winged creatures' faces!
'Rrraaap,' screeched the flying reptile.
"Tie him down. Then put on your saddle so he doesn't try to fly away," instructed Zampdom. Yelilah nodded and followed Zampdom's instructions.
Pekalls have a twenty-foot wingspan and are eight feet long from nose to tail. Their heads are almond-shaped and they have flat teeth for grinding the plants that they eat in the trees.
With a snap of the vines, the two were off to the Shven-Shong Academy, located on the northeastern tip of Raoolia.
With their journey to the ends of Raoolia underway, a moment of peace enters their minds, maybe, just for a brief moment…
